{glaring spotlight} could be a good sideboard card for this deck

That's what {Skullcrack} is for. As soon as it hits the field BAM!!! No life gained and all I have to deal with is a 3/3

Reread skull crack, one you would have to hit them before thragtusk resolves and two, it only targets players.

Thragtusk doesn't have flash. You can just cast in reaponse

But {Skullcrack} can only target players. And if you cast in response to trigger a stack, {Skullcrack} will resolve first before {Thragtusk}, so even if you could target creatures, you couldn't target him

I just realized that well at least there is no life gain

Not trying to kill thragtusk. You just want to prevent your opponent from gaining 5life. RDW loses if there's too much lifegain. 5life could cost them the game

Right, we know that but OP stated he would kill thraggy and prevent the life gain, which you can't do.

Honestly, with the heav mono-color focus this next block is going to have, any RDW deck list is going to change anyways, all these post rotation decks that come out between core set and the first set of a new block always seem silly.

Actually once the new set comes out only certain things will change. The deck posting is what I have planned for now

Right, but it just seems silly to plan a deck with a pool of cards without knowing half of them.

Especially in red, that card never made sense to me. Scry is blue
