I already thought about it and im trying to make it viable in modern.. I guess legacy is the real plaec for it! It can go along with the "exile from hand, add x to mana pool" stuff etc...
Maybe in theros it will work better, too bad we have the rotation :(

Not possible. The trigger goes on the stack before you are allowed to do anything. This works though if you respond to the trigger by activating it because path does not check types till it resolves.

Agreed, you don't have the ability to do anything until after your upkeep. After path resolves.
Um...no. You dont gave the ability to do anything until after your untap. You can do things during your upkeep but as I stated the "beginning of your upkeep" trigger will happen before you can do anything. It can not resolve until each player decides not to do anything in response. So you activate the land in response and then allow the trigger to resolve.

I played a B/G deck with this combo in it at a free tourney last night.  I got {Worldspine Wurm} out on turn 4. Lol!  Pretty fun.  I'm still tweaking the deck.  I whiffed quite a bit with the combo too.  I'm thinking about running a couple {Gravepurge}.  Discard giant creatures with  {Lotleth Troll}, then put them on top of my deck with the purge. Idk.  Seems like good synergy.
