Tonight, for many reasons, it a horrible Saturday night indeed.
Ditched by friends both on a movie & going to the Magic shop (super-sadness). I burned my popcorn that I had prepared (along with a glass of wine) so that I could sulk and be halfway happy while watching my Netflix (and now my house reeks of burnt things). My puppy doesn't want to cuddle with me (probably because I burned the popcorn and she's peeved about the stench). So now I'm lying in my bed, drinking my wine and a few tears while my dog scowls at me from across the bedroom, sans popcorn.
D;
Try writing. Writing about bad experiences in your own personal style is fun. Only if you like writing though.
Not to thread jack, but I can only produce artistically if I'm feeling negative emotions. So I second the idea
I did just write.....this thread ;)
Nevertheless, I'm exhausted from trying to make tonight into something epic (maybe a little tipsy from the wine to boot). So I see sleep in my very very very near future.
Watch The Room. It'll turn your night around guaranteed.
Or try Dead Snow. That is a legit awesome movie.

Lol, simultaneously both the best AND worst piece if advice you can possibly give.
Seriously though, sorry your night was a bust :( you're welcome to swing by Ohio, I'll play some commander with you if you're that desperate :P

My wife and I have been quoting it for a solid week now. It was great. I chose to do my first podcast episode about that movie, and just did Dead Snow for my second episode. There's a theater in Dallas (three hours from where I live) that does a monthly screening of The Room, and we're planning on going next month.
I love Commander. It's really all I play anymore <3

Draft and commander are all I need to be happy :P
And mike: YOU ARE TEARING ME APART, LISA!
Its funny you say Draft and Commander. A friend of mine at my LGS was drunk (we are allowed to drink during tournaments and prereleases at my LGS) and complaining that things were getting boring so he suggested that we have teams of two each get a box and both players have to draft a commander deck and play. It would work if you brought your commander (didn't have to draft it) and drafted 36 different sets (to limit the amount of multiples). It would be a little pricey but REALLY fun.

I think it would take forever to build your deck sorting thru so many cards
But you would need that many cards to build the deck though...It would take too long though, first sort out the cards you can't use because of your commander's color identity, then sort into piles by card type (sorting out cards you will definitely use in the process) and finally fill in gaps. I would think it would take about an hour or two but would be well worth it for the experience.
