It's been announced that Ben Affleck is slated to be Bruce Wayne in the Superman Vs. Batman movie. What's everyone's opinion on this?
While Mr. Affleck is a fine actor, I had my hopes set high on Josh Brolin being the new Batman.
Besides all that, does anyone else think calling it Superman Vs. Batman is stupid?
In similar news, HOW ARE THEY GUNNA MAKE AN ANT-MAN MOVIE AFTER THE AVENGERS MOVIE WAS ALREADY MADE?
Flashbacks of Daredevil, disappointed... Josh Brolin would have been a great choice, hell get Joseph Gordon Lovett to do it, but Ben Affleck come on...
So actor sucks, name sucks, feeling like there is a trend...
I agree, flashbacks of Daredevil....Although Superman vs. Batman is dumb as it is. Let's see, an indestructible, unkillable (in Superman Returns even after being stabbed in the ribs with Green Kryptonite and thrown into the water, he just ignores it and flys a continent out into space) superhero against a guy with gadgets who's only hope is kryptonite (which can't kill superman). Superman is overpowered and even if you somehow kill him, he comes back as Superman Prime: an even more durable god.
Ugh, I forgot about Daredevil. So bad.
I really hope it's not gonna be him. It will make me cringe
Ant man is going to be part of the avengers phase 2 and 3.
THAT'S good, he was in the original team... But I'm not sure Superman VS. Batman is really going to get many views...
Their standards of not killing is what makes it a fair fight. Neither one is willing to do what it takes to beat the other. It will probably be one of the usual good-guys-fight-until-they-share-an-enemy story line. Superman's powers are limited by his mind and UV radiation, without those two limits he really is like a god.
The idea is ridiculous...so ridiculous in fact that I'm calling it not, batman will win. Watch.
Swamp Thing has minor interactions with the Jusice League in Saga and the New 52. It would be sweet if he made a cameo in the Justice League movie.

Most likely. Batman is the fan favorite. DC's champion right now.

They did this in Wizard once and batman won by using the krypton superman gave him when they were friends. In all reality...batman gets owned badly...
I hope Robert Downey Jr. and Scarlett Johansson show up, destroy Superman and Ben Affleck with their minds and DC fades into nothing.
To be far dc still has some good heroes. The problem is, they make terrible movies. 1 thing I can't stand is superman. Main reason, every movie they make he fight lex Luther. I mean come on...he's got more enemies then lex. I haven't seen the latest "man of steel" bc it's simply played out for me and I don't wanna force myself to watch it.
DC is okay, but can't compete with Marvel any more. They rely on two characters that actually sell well (albeit they Green Lantern and a few others sell have way decent), can't make movies, have WAY too many continuation problems and other errors and most of the characters are overpowered and/or don't make sense. The only thing keeping DC going is the latest AMAZING Batman movies (all hail Christian Bale and Christopher Nolan!) and the fact that Superman is engrained in American culture.
The new batman movies were supported largely by the villains more then batman himself. You've got to admitt that Heath ledgers role as the joker was downright the best portrayed character in all the batman movies.

Vertigo, man! That imprint is still putting out great stuff. In my opinion, that's what's keeping DC afloat.

Yeah, I must admit that Heath Ledger's performance is the best acting I have every seen. But you also have to admit that Christian Bale has been one of the best, if not the best Batman so far.

Frankly...he hasn't really had much competition. The thing that's working for the batman movies is mostly the storyline.
No just no the movie daredevil was just nasty
He was good as daredevil.. But how can daredevil become batman?!? That is not cool..
I thought it was funny. Who will robin be??

For some reason when I read the Matt Damon!!! I thought of Team America World Police.
Bryan Cranston has been cast as Lex Luthor. That should be pretty sweet.
You all have to remember, Ben Affleck was a good Daredevil. The Daredevil movie was awful cause the writing was horrid. But he portrayed Daredevil well.
Yes that's true at least I'm not saying he's a bad actor it's just him as a batman is a eh sorta thing it honestly all depends on the writing and the people making the movie(s)
I heard they were making a Wonder Woman movie. I also heard that Beyonce might play Wonder Woman. Is this true? Or is it just a rumor?
They are setting it up for the JLA. As for the beyonce thing...idk, not a huge fan of her acting so I'd prefer someone else.

Yerp, but its going to be the downfall of DC. They are hastily making crappy movies (Green Lantern) with big names who don't fit the roles. Just think, all of those big name actors trying to pretend to be superheroes....
That's one thing that made The Avengers so good. They took their time setting it up (except maybe Thor, that was a little iffy) but now DC has their back in a corner and has to find a way out.
Daredevil could have been worse. It could have been Electra. Daredevil may have been bad, but Electra hitting the screens will likely cost someone their soul...
And although I like Ben Afleck for the most part, it reminds me of a girl that was in my drama class. She couldn't act like anyone but herself. It was just her reading different lines.
Same with Ben Afleck. He doesn't fall into the roll. He doesn't become the persona he's playing. It's just Ben Afleck with different lines in a different costume...

I call it "The Adam Sandler Effect"
It's had awhile to stew and simmer, so I'm revisiting the idea. I'm actually excited to see what Affleck is going to do with the role. Remember when Heath Ledger was announced as the Joker and everyone was like "LOL, wut? R u serious?" And then the movie came out and IT WAS THE BEST CHARACTER IN THE WHOLE SERIES.
Also, since no one has said it...
Affleck was the bomb in Phantoms!
What the frack is the Internet? lol
I'll give him a chance. He better not stand there with his mouth hanging open.
