Perhaps 1 {Ætherling}? It's more of an Esper card, but it's definitely the best Win Con in blue in a long time

I'm thinking about switching out the Dracogenious for Aetherling.

What about {Turn // Burn}

And I agree with dropping Dracogenius Ætherling trumps him by miles.

Perhaps an {Epic Experiment}? And replacing Tamiyo with {Chandra Pyromaster}

I prefer Tamiyo, she helps control against aggro, and syncs nice with Ral. I didn't really like how Chandra played.
I'll test Turn // Burn for sure.

Looks really nice. Solid enough that the switch from Draconis to Astherling is just marginal. You're not relying on any one creature finisher and you have the burn as well.

I suggest cutting 2 izzet charms for 2 turn//burns and find 0-2 more cards to replace as well

AEtherling is in! I cut 1 {Izzet Charm}, but I like them because they can re-arrange my hand if I need it. Otherwise I can counter an early spell or destroy a powerful 1/2 drop.

Deck Updated!

{counterflux} is a good card but really what are the chances you're going to be countering someone else's counter (which I think is the main use of that card)? I think it'd be a better sideboard card IMO. That could free up some card slots for card draw such as {augur of bolas} or even other counterspells such as {syncopate}. {Izzet charm} is a great card for its versatility, so if you aren't running 4, I'd recommend running NO less than 3. As for {desolate lighthouse}, I'm sure you already know this but ill throw it out there for the ppl that don't. But because it has such a high cost to just draw a card and discard a card, I'd recommend using this ONLY during the end of your opponents turn if you have the mana. That way you can just untap it all during your turn.

I enjoy {Counterflux} because it can counter without being countered. I can also use its overload to hit multiple cards my opponent has on the stack. I may sideboard it to test out {Syncopate}.  I liked Augur for his fetching abilities, but he was defensive. I prefer Pyromancer so I can be aggressive. Works well if Delver comes out early too. {Izzet Charm} is staying at 3 minimum. I agree with your statement about {Desolate Lighthouse}. It can come in handy late game on my turn as well. Thanks for the help!

True counterflux can't be countered, but it's also pretty uncommon for your opponent to have multiple cards on the stack unless they are also playing control. Which is pretty situational. That's why id recommend it for sideboard over syncopate. But that's just my suggestion. How useful is Pyromancer in this deck? Because he really just seems to produce chump blockers because theirs nothing to really beef them up

Very true. I enjoy how (Young Pyromancer} works. They can be attackers or blockers. It's nice to throw burn and creatures at my opponent.

I love control decks. Ever since I first started playing back in the "semi old days" blue was my color so I'd say I've had the most experience with those types of decks. Red or black is a close 2nd ;)

I think this deck will transform to control after rotation. I was thinking about American, but not sure.

Hmmm USA... I'd say that depends on what comes out in Theros. Perhaps some awesome white cards... :)

Theros is pushing mono colored decks. The new white cards are OP. A few red cards ain't no joke either. Mono-green is going to stamp out red-green aggro.

I think white/blue and green/black is going to dominate next format simple because of their enchantment removal. {Keening Apparition} will be highly playable :)
