Things to think about.
I like to go with cheap creatures, instants and enchantments that are also cheap and buff or removals. Spawn tokens, and maybe 1 or two big fattys that might cost 6.
Synergy is the key (stuff that really works well together, same mechanic, tribals if possible).
Flying is super quick and powerful at the moment.
And then there's the slower but stronger werewolves I guess.
But if you can make a deck where you cast two things a turn they will have trouble keeping them flipped.
With 40 cards you want to make a deck that will play super fast and every card you draw does something straight away or you won't have a problem casting.
Argo is so powerful.
Maybe even mill if it's cheap. (you only have to get them down 32 or 33 cards if they run a 40)
I also try to avoid milling myself for the same reason.
Wally wanna play on cockatrice?
