Title: Exile or No Exile?
Post by: michael19 on August 18, 2013, 11:49:02 AM
You look at a card like {mist hollow griffin}, which can be cast from exile. However, a card like {swords to plowshares} says "remove target creature from the game. Would I be able to re-cast a {misthollow} or would the card have to specifically say "exile"?

Well, exile used to be remove from game, so it would be exiled, I think.

Here's the rules:

406.7. (http://imtgapp.com/forum/index.php?action=imtg;area=rule;number=406.7.): Previously, the exile zone was called the "removed-from-the-game zone." Cards that were printed with text that "removes [an object] from the game" exiles that object. The same is true for cards printed with text that "sets [an object] aside." Cards that were printed with that text have received errata in the Oracle card reference.
