Film makers make mistakes all the time...maybe the storm troopers were missing because there target was using the force?

Because one set of storm troopers were newbs. The next batch were leveled up.
The ones on the Death Star weren't very good. Vader's 141st were elite. He was an amazing general, but a crappy Jedi...lol
