Title: price on a case
Post by: DirtyMustachio on August 17, 2013, 07:20:45 AM
So I'm pretty serious about a case of theros, I've mentioned before my lgs owner is very good to me and sells 7 packs (whatever/normal stuff even new) for 20 $ even. Boxes 100 $.

I asked him yesterday how much for a case of theros when it comes out.

600 $, no 50 $ tax 6 boxes at 100 $ each.

Anyone want to confirm thats as great an offer as I think it is?

Will it confirm a playset of just about every card?

Uncommons and commons, for sure. Probably could get 2 or 3 of most out of a case. Rares are unlikely but possible. You could easily trade your chase UCs for rares you need. Mythics, are really unlikely. You might pull a playset of 1 or 2 with GREAT luck. Otherwise 2 of each is about the best you can hope for.

Get the box mapping app, and only crack the packs you need. Then just draft the rest. It's much more fun than just opening a ton of cards that will never see play. :)

It does sound like a pretty good deal but dropping that much money on cards that we don't even know will be in the set? I'd be wary about that, at least wait until some spoilers come out

Well yeah I agree, its not like I can get them until all the spoils are out anyway. I just feel like its a strong bet that were going to rely heavily on cards from it

With such powerful cards rotating, I sure hope theros is good!!

I can agree with that. I think Theros is going to have some SICK cards in it that will become staples for a long time. Obviously I have no proof of this, it's just a gut feeling

A lot of that is based on the fact I have no innistrad or m13 so ill be ready to build a deck seconds upon release and I don't want to run around looking for popular cards

Box mapping stopped working a while back. Wizards got sick of it so they prerandomize and then most stores randomize again when they put pack out for sale.

Nope it works, his app figures out what is missing by and the randomizing by the sleeves. I was a sceptic too but check out the videos on YouTube.
