Title: Imtg law
Post by: Hunteroffire9 on August 16, 2013, 09:47:13 PM
If you think about it. Does karma break Imtg law? A line of Imtg is do not harm but giving negative karma is harming someone. I feel like imtg law is broken allot and there is no way to enforce most of it.

What do you think?

I believe if your given negative karma you brought it upon yourself by offending someone.

And yes some people are less forgive about the karma button than others but that is just how it works.

That's not the problem^ if It is breaking imtg it is breaking imtg law. And harming somone is breaking imtg law.

"Karma is people's to give and take, it is protected by free speech natural law."

It is not breaking iMtG law.

I think imtg law needs to be rethought because of this.

In the end Karma is just a number. So it'd be really weird if some guy gave up iMTG bc someone just gave him a negative karma

Exactly I was just given negative karma, which made me mad and now I am sad and you harmed me, breaking imtg law ;)

in all honesty, outside of imtg law, by US law, I am entitled to my belief, and if that offends you, you have the right to get over it.

don't care. I am. I am entitled to my opinion, it doesn't matter where you are, and imtg law doesn't break us law, imtg law is stricter than us law, but essentially they are similar systems, and negetive karma does not harm you, it helps you to know which comments you should have kept to yourself.

Now that I think about it you do not have to follow imtg law because that would be agaist the law the law unless you sign a contract to do the app.

We should kill this fire by removing its oxygen.

Aka let a mod decide and pass a ruling.

Debate on a cycling topic is useless.

by using the forums you have therefore agreed to follow all restrictions enforced upon the forums, you don't have to follow it in life, but here on the forums, it is required to be followed.

If you've ever hit the "Dont" button (and we both know you have, hunteroffire,) then you can't complain about karma. Like I told you in our PMs. Don't mindlessly neg people and then get mad when it comes back around to you.

exactly, and you really shouldn't complain about neg karma that was earned.

So what?  If someone comes on and starts calling people names and saying terrible things they've done to someone else's mother, what are we supposed to do?  As a community, I mean. Karma is a way for people as a whole to try to get a nonverbal message across; telling the person that they're stupid, or trolling, or being a dick, or whatever.  People like to get in fights.  If person A makes a stupid post and person B calls them on it, person A will likely try to argue and make a scene. Karma lets people anonymously tell others to knock it off. You could be at -999 karma and you will never be physically harmed. If you get a bunch of negative karma and get depressed and cause yourself harm, whose fault is that?  Yours, not the person that have you karma. Jeez, I need to quit ranting on here.

Tl;dr:  Karma works fine. Stop saying its bad or dumb or whatever. Seriously 😓

it wasn't, it is an example of the random karma that flies around, but a -1 on a theory that I find fault with and don't think is beneficial to anyone is mine to give and most assuredly earned.

Let me tell you all a little secret that helps a lot of people in this community who have insane amounts of karma.

They don't give a crap about it.  It is a number that doesn't matter.  Now let this wisdom sink into you as you run off to your new life.  A life filled with numbers that don't mean anything.  The way it should be.

People just resent that philosophy, so we decided we might drill it in whenever these topics came up.

By the way, I would like to point peoples attention to that little thread below us that says, "I am sorry". And if you are sorry, you wouldn't attempt to do the exact same thing you were 'sorry' about a few hours earlier.
