My friend was dumped by his girlfriend and he is doing self harm, he won't consult his family now can I help him!

If its that serious, let his family know right away. Better alive than not.

He lives in another state, don't know his parents phone number

If he's reached out to you and confided in you by telling you about it, the first and foremost thing you need to do is continue being a friend to him. If he's reaching out to you, it means he trusts you and wants your friendship, and giving him that will help him immensely.

If you're really worried, or feel he's in danger, I posted the suicide prevention hotline number in the other self harm thread. If you think he's a danger to himself, you can try calling it. They will help you and give you advice on how to talk him down and lead him to safety.
