Title: My take on Pillow Fort
Post by: prayos on August 14, 2013, 04:48:03 PM
3 {Glacial Fortress}
4 {Hallowed Fountain}
4 {Sunpetal Grove}
4 {Temple Garden}
4 {Breeding Pool}
4 {Hinterland Harbor}
2 {Encroaching Wastes}
25 Lands

4 {Abundant Growth}
4 {Pacifism}
4 {Detention Sphere}
3 {Oblivion Ring}
4 {Verdant Haven}
4 {Supreme Verdict}
3 {Ethereal Armor}
3 {Thragtusk}
4 {Sphere of Safety}
2 {Aetherling}
35 Spells

Sideboard
2 {Pithing Needle}
2 {Negate}
1 {Blind Obedience}
2 {Witchbane Orb}
1 {Oblivion Ring}
1 {Terminus}
1 {Thragtusk}
2 {Dissipate}
3 {Rest in Peace}

Idea is to stall, stall, stall, then throw down Thrag or Aetherling. And if needed, Ethereal Armor them with the help of your other enchantments.

Ethereal is in there just for cheap enchantments to help power the Fort(Sphere of Safety).  No black sources, so Doom Blade is out, unless I keep Abundant Growth in, which you've advised against. And I currently own no Sphinx's, that's why it's not there. But you're right, it needs card draw. Maybe some {Think Twice} or {Jace, Memory Adept}?

I like this idea. Win via sphere or supreme. Get there with farseek and verdents. Thragtusk and ætherling the beat sticks nice

There are no Farseeks, but you know what? Good call.

Put blind obedience to slow down their start and then extort everything you play.

My mate plays this deck and he uses extort with  {Agoraphobia} over and over.
Also uses  {Assemble the Legion} to build his own army.

Also maybe  {Rancor} rather than the white armor?

Dont play any auras for your creatures to inconsistent play something like {Mana Bloom} or {Pacifism}

Edit: sorry didnt see you had {Pacifism} but still {Ethereal armor doesnt really do much for this deck {Mana bloom ramps into your {Sphere of safety} or {Farseek} also   {Jace, Architect of Thought} seems very very good in this deck

Mana bloom (mana + enchantment count)
Fogbank
Garruk Primal Hunter (draw + tokens)
Sphinx's Rev (draw + life)
Supreme verdict (boardwipe)
Oblivion Ring
Detention Sphere

Remember to side out pacifisms against decks with sac engines. Keep the abundant growths because they cycle themselves and add to the enchantment count
