How does Alpha Brawl work? Do creatures attack at the same time, or is it two separate battles? I don't quite understand how it works through how the Oracle Reading describes it...

The first creature deals it's damage, then all the other creatures deal their damage. Once the spell resolves, damage is checked and what has been dealt lethal dies.

Technically the damage is done in the order the card reads. However state based actions (such as death by damage) are not checked till after all the text is resolved.
