Notes:
I don't have fetches and I'm not overly fond of spending another ~$220. I know they fix well but color hasn't been a problem with this land base so far. Help with the sideboard would be appreciated.

Can anyone offer any pointers on all things pod?

fetches are mandatory for this deck, since you are taking so many creatures out you don't want to be drawing land constantly (it may not have happened yet, but now that I mention it you will notice) you could go terramorphic expanse or Tec edge maybe ? Minimum 4 basics though, path to exile is a pain and you don't want to get a -2 any other questions, message me if you want

The spike feeder/thune combo is a great way to still knock out a win if people hate out my meliras as it can still provide an infinite combo.
I'd prefer to try and do without fetches due to the cost but maybe next month.
Unfortunately ( walletwise ) Dadforgame is right to keep pod competitive you should play fetches. And definitely I would play few basic lands...;)
One more thing I had on my mind...;) on your place I would play {Melira, Sylvok Outcast} x3... You will have bigger chance to draw it and with all the spot removals in format.. She is one of your keycards in the deck...;)

She prevents creatures to have -1/-1 counters...;) she does not state that creature cannot have lowered toughness and power...;)
That shadow has no counters on himself.. He is simply -x/-x

Maybe reorganize so that you have a straight combo deck before and then have a sideboard to make it aggro-hate bears? You could take out stuff like archangel of thune and stick them in sideboard and surprise the opponent when they go for the standard Melira hate.

Melissa is not about the combo though..that's the number one misconception about her. You might win 1 game out of 2 rounds by going infinite, other than that..the deck is Jund. (Junk colors obviously..plays like Jund though). It's all about our resourcing your opponent and I don't feel spike feeder gives you max value compared to {orzhoff pontiff} (which is a must or you will lose to janky decks) , {eternal witness} or other 3 drops.
most of the time you should be siding out your combo anyway for game two and three, its the only way you can beat real Jund (considering they don't mull to 3 and get flooded)
