Title: Dual Lands?
Post by: Monrodesign on August 12, 2013, 08:54:08 PM
So when Innastrad drops wil tri-color decks just run the 3 sets of shocks and 0 Guildgates?

I can see 2 color decks running 4 Guildgates but not sure if it will mess with its tempo.

Are we getting anything like {Evolving Wilds} or {Terramorphic Expanse}?

Ya apparently they said that there will be dual lands but they will make it harder for 3-colour decks ... Idk how they'll do that but that's what they said.

I can't see them being worse than the gates unless they ping you each time you tap for a certain color.

I feel like they'll be the pain lands

We have  {Shimmering Grotto} and  {Transguild Promenade} to filter through now.

Why do people like pain lands so much?

Untapped no matter what.

Eh, not bad. Very situational.

Same reason people like shocklands. Life as a resource. Not as good, obviously, but they're good nonetheless.

Ya they're awesome if you need the specific colour it's a small price if you need colourless it's there for free plus a dual that comes in untapped either way is just great

Yep! Plus, the longer the match goes, the more likely you are to have more lands out that can give you what you need, thus leaving the pain lands open for colorless mana, which doesn't ping you.

What are the chances of a new type of land? Something like a forest mountain that when it enters the battlefield you have to choose which one it is and can only use it as that color for the entirety of the game. I actually like that idea...so it'll prolly never happen lol.

Interesting that might be cool or even a flip land like what you said choose what it is Forest or Mountain but then after you choose you can pay 1 and whatever colour it is to flip it and do this as many times as you want

Or to build on this idea...flip card. Comes in untapped. Whenever you tap it, flip it and on the other side is a different color. Too bad they don't have a set based on player ideas lol.

That's not to far off from the future sight duals so I'm sure it's a possibility.

what about say a forest mountain that it taps for a forest at first and then the next time it taps it has to be for a mountain

If they did do flip lands, you wouldn't be able to choose which side it came in on, it says in the rules they come in bright side up

Split land  like a fuse card. Tap it for both if you pay 2 colorless

That's not necessarily true. They could have a diff rule on the card that overrides the original.
