Title: Lgs big tournament
Post by: Hunteroffire9 on August 09, 2013, 07:53:29 PM
My lgs is holding a big tournament I'm going to have to be playing a net deck or a highly competitive one because I only have 1 day when I come back to build a deck:

Requirements:

It cannot be an arristocraf deck because its bad in my meta for some reason, it can't have thundermaw, snapcasteror Geist, or voice, and I don't want to play jund because I played for a while. Anything thing else is fine I have a playset of about everything except the mentioned cards;)

Looking for some help because there will be BIg prizes, if no one helps my plan will be either gruul aggro 4c rites or my azorius control I posted.

Mk I'll think about it and  you don't get mana screwd when you have the proper dual lands.

So pretty much what I'm asking should i play 4 color rites, some sort of rdw or gruul aggro, or azorius control(leaning towards this)

Do you at least have aetherling. Azorius control will be tough without snapcasters and geists.

I suggest running a mono red deck with 4 {burning earths}, 4 {boros reckoners}, 4  {Ash Zealot}, 4  {Young Pyromancer} and a ton of instant burn spells.

But burning earth is so mean.

It's so mean... Not a fun way to win agaist jund:P you should win by beating with spells not making the land srewrd:P(acid slime is awsome so it's ok:P)

Your loss I guess.
Think about it for a second. What is something in your meta that will effect every deck being played, what will give you the best advantage against all these decks, and if not dealt with can possibly win you the game?

From what you have described, burning earth is the perfect solution to at least 80% of those decks. And for the ones that take the hit and cast anyway then you are that much closer than you were before.

I can garruntee that white decks will be playing renounce the guilds for the same reason. A lot of the stronger decks will be running two or more colours. Build to make that their weakness. It's pretty simple really.

Also with a good ton of solid burn at the moment your choices in that department shouldn't give you any issues.

24 mana, 4 bonfires main, 4 blasphemous act side, etc. go have fun and wreck face.

I'm not arguing with you, if I had money I would run this deck. There are a lot of people who only run dual lands. Combine that with the burn spells you can easily win by turn 5.

I just listed all those decks that are on the top of my head, there will be proably 13 different of the most competative decks there will also be Mono green and rdw. I can't make a deck which is made to defeat one deck. It has to be well rounded.,

I think you just confirmed all my points. Lol

Also I just threw a deck together based on this idea, posted as "burning earth" under standard, I even dropped it to two bonfires to keep the cost a little lower for you. (It's about 120 mid, less if you already have most of the cards) :)

I ave all standard cards accept for the ones listed above  but I lost 2 put of my 4 bonfires and oozes.

Btw look at my list, and are you trying to say your deck is PTQs ready because that will be the level of play...

No, I'm saying I just threw it together, but with some testing you could really make it more solid. Make it how you need it to be, all I'm saying is that deck would have half a chance against most of the decks there. Junk tokens would probably be your toughest matchup but then just run some ratchet bombs or something and no more problems :)

Try it, do some testing. I know I'll be trying to make this deck in the next coming weeks or so.

I don't know...Don't get me wrong, I love Esper but it isn't exactly the most powerful archetype right now...

Oh I remembered why I'm playing azorius it works better, well without  snappy and snappy is not good when half of the decks at the lgs have 3-4 oozes...not trying to be a net decker but all the high level azorius control decks on tcgplayer (and yes azorius control is now top tier playable)
