Title: Guildleaders in planeswalker form
Post by: OrzhovRakdos on August 08, 2013, 01:01:04 PM
Hello, I'm new to this, so this might be the wrong place to put this in, but I thought for my first post I should share my interpretation of all the guildleaders in planeswalker form. So lets go. Note: all of them have mana cost of four, one of each of their two colors, and two colorless, and they all start at four loyalty counters.

Isperia:+1=Target creature gains flying until end of turn. -2=Detain up to three target creatures target opponent controls.-7=You get an emblem with "Whenever an opponent casts a spell, you may pay one white and one blue. If you do, counter that spell."

Rakdos:+1= Target creature gets +1/+1 and gains haste until end of turn.-3=Creatures you control are unblockable this turn.-7=You get an emblem with "Creatures you control have haste and death touch."

Obzedat:+1: Target creature gains lifelink until end of turn. -3= Creatures you control gain lifelink until end of turn.-7= You get an emblem with "Creatures you control have lifelink", and "If you would gain life, instead each opponent loses that much life and you gain life equal to the life lost this way"

Trostani: +1=Populate. -2= Put a 3/3 green and white centaur creature token onto the battlefield. -7= You get an emblem with "Whenever a non token creature enters the battlefield, put three tokens onto the battlefield that are copies of that creature."

Zegana: +1= Put a +1/+1 counter on target creature.-2= draw cards equal to the greatest power among creatures you control.-7=You get an emblem with "Whenever a creature enters the battlefield under your control, double the amount of +1/+1 counters of each creature you control"

Jarad:+1= Target creature you control gets +1/+1 equal to have the number of creature cards in your graveyard, rounded up.-5= Target creature you control gets +2/+2 for each creature card in your graveyard.-7= you get an emblem with "At any time you may pay one green and one black. If you do, exile target creature from target graveyard. Put +1/+1 counters equal to that creature's power on each creature you control

Aurelia:+2=Until end of turn, whenever three or more creatures attack, those creatures get +1/+1 until end of turn.-X= Aurelia Deals X damage to target player. You gain X life.-7= You get an emblem with "Whenever a creature you control attacks, that creature gets +3/+3 and is indestructible until end if turn."

Borborygmos: +1= Target creature you control gains double strike until end if turn.-3: Creatures you control get +2/+2 and gain trample until end of turn.-8= You get an emblem with "Creatures you control have double strike, hexproof, haste, and +5/+5."

Lazav:+2= Target player puts the top card of his or her library into his or graveyard.0=Target player puts the top three cards of his or library into his or her graveyard.-8= You get an emblem with "Whenever you cast a spell, each opponent reveals cards from the top if his or her library until he or she reveals a land card, then puts those cards Into his or her graveyard.

Niv-mizzet:+1= Niv-Mizzet deals 1 damage to target creature or player, and you draw a card.-3= Niv-mizzet deals 2 damage to each creature you don't control.-8= You get an emblem with "Whenever you cast an instant r sorcery, you may pay one red and one blue. If you do, that spell deals six damage to up to six target creatures and/or players in addition to its other abilities. You may pay one red and one blue multiple for each spell."

Please reply and tell me what you think of them, thanks.

I like the creativity, although they seem overpowered. There was actually a thread on here where people posted a lot of their own ideas for the guild leaders. I'll go find it for you.

The biggest factor is of course starting loyalty and mana cost, but the thing I would focus on if you were to edit them would be to make their +abilities a bit less powerful as most walker's + abilities are fairly minor, or they can be detrimental as is often the case with  {Tibalt, the Fiend-Blooded}. Anyways, welcome to the community! :)

Ok for some real input then. Rakdos -8 would never happen. In the history of magic 5 cards have had first strike AND deathtouch. It is way too overpowered to give all creatures both.

Really like it, I think if these cards where 7-9 mana and had about 4-5 loyalty they would not be to overpowerd.

Edit: and I gave you a +1
