In wizards own words,

"In the minds of the red planeswalker, There is no future or past, only the present. Red creatures clutter the ground and attack every turn, overwhelming opponents before they can do anything. Tactics? Who needs tactics? Attack!

Red's spells aren't much different. They help you deal as much damage as possible. The answer for Red's problems Is always to throw fire at it. Creatures in your way? Throw fire at them! Opponents still alive? Throw fire them! How can you go wrong?"

That being said, a red burn deck was the first deck I had when I started playing.  To be honest red and green are the easiest decks to start with.  As Wizards stated, red is actually fairly simple, spells that deal direct damage such as {searing spear} and {lava axe} are some of the best ways to win.  Other than that there are also creatures that get boosted up when you deal noncombatant damage such as {Chandra's spitfire} or when you cast an instant or sorcery card like {kiln fiend}.  See if you can maybe get some friends to help you in your deck building or get an intro deck to see how it works out.  Then the rest is up to you, adding or removing cards that work better/worse and just play testing it out.  Hope this helps :)

Another useful card for dealing quick damage is shock. It costs one mana and is an instant. You can deal two damage to either a a target creature or player. Fire slinger goblins are also handy for quick attacks and also cost one mana.

Yes, but keep in mind that you will need a late game strategy too. It's fun to throw out a million little burn spells but when you have nothing on turn 6, you're screwed. Trust me, I play red a lot, make sure you have some later game stuff like {Lava Axe} and {Volcanic Geyser}.

Honestly I always suggest green for beginners, not that either color is better or that you shouldn't play red, it's just that red has A LOT MORE triggers that you want to respond to. Until you get the grasp of when to respond to what I believe that green is a lot more forgiving, very straight forward and has a built in late game most of the time.

Yeah and if you splash blue throw in {Essence Backlash}. Oh, you want to drop a {Worldspine Wurm}? How about NO!

Or you flood mana dorks and/or mana ramp spells throw out  {Garruk, Caller of Beasts} and there's your world spine or whatever you have.
