Title: Deck
Post by: Taysby on August 01, 2013, 02:58:31 PM
What is the deck with the most flavor?  Regardless if it wins or not, which deck is the most interesting and flavorful deck?

Reanimator for me. Nothing like getting a fatty into the 'yard and cheating it into play. {Goryo's Vengeance} + {Emrakul, the Aeons Torn} = cryin'. No, you don't get the extra turn, but you still have an Emrakul out T1 with the right hand.

When Emrakel hits the graveyard he shuffles back into your library.

The shuffle uses the stack so you can respond to it

The most flavor to me is any alt win con. Beautiful!!!!

It does indeed. But as pointed out, he uses the stack, in which case you cast {Goryo's Vengeance} before he shuffles back in.

Bound by strength is good. It allows for creature power sharing. Pairing Soulbound creatures with each other improves their abilities. Example: 4/4 Wolfir Silverheart+2/2 Nightshade Peddler= Each of them gets +4/4 because of the Wolfir Silverheart. And they each gain deathtouch because o the Nightshade Peddler. Other combos can give hexproof or flying etc. The possibilities seem endless.

Personally, I think Mill has an awesome flavor. "I'm making you go insane, one memory at a time."
"I'm not going insane!"
"Really? When is your birthday?"
"Oh crap, what's a birthday."

I really like Filifog decks. You use cards like {Azor's Elocutors} for the filibusters, and {fog} to get them there.

Well, it's in the battlefield, and Emrakul doesn't enter the graveyard.

It works, you just have to play the {Goryo's Vengeance} exactly when {Emrakul, the Aeons Torn} hits the graveyard. When Emrakul hits the graveyard the ability goes onto the stack, you cast {Goryo's Vengeance} and because the stack clears top to bottom, it is pulled out before it is shuffled. Although it still isn't an amazing combo because you have to get it into the graveyard, then pull it out instantly (praying that your opponent doesn't have anything to cancel it or shut down the graveyard) and even then you only have it for 1 turn.

Graveyard hate does wreck it, but with eight deck-to-graveyard enablers, getting him into the graveyard isnt a problem. Ideally I'd reanimate {griselbrand} first anyway so I can cycle through my deck by paying seven life, drawing seven cards, then casting {soul spike} and doing it over again. But being able to swing for 15 on T1 is always fun.

Also I use {gitaxian probe} to make sure the coast is clear before reanimating, and when playing on the ol 'trice, I use {force of will} to battle any graveyard hate shenanigans.
