Title: Blocking/casting an instant
Post by: Bookmeister on July 31, 2013, 05:59:44 PM
Can I block a creature, say a 3/3, with my {Voice of Resurgence} and in response cast {Rapid Hybridization} on my Voice having the creature remain blocked but getting two tokens?

That was almost completely right. Once you move to damage assignment it is too late to do things. Damage will instead fizzel do to a lack of target. This is an important thing to keep in mind for cards with {lifelink} and of course {boros reckoner}.

Assign attackers
Priority pass (chance to do things)
Assign blockers
Priority pass
Assign and deal damage (things die here)
Priority pass
End combat.

Because it is a similar problem I thought I would just post here, I think the guy was right but wanted to make sure. I attacked the guy, he blocked with a {Soulmender} and then tapped it for the life. That works right? I need to know because I have one in a deck for Friday.
