Vorel of the Hull Clade has the ability to double +1/+1 counters, my question is about the duration of this effect. Is the new counter permanent? If it is permanent can I use instants like Phytoburst then the Vorel ability to quickly stack counters?
I am a very new player so some of the rules in these cases escape me.
Thanks.
{Vorel of the Hull Clade}
{Phytoburst}
Everyone is new once before, so no worries!
Counters stay on creatures (until they leave the battlefield), while {Phytoburst} lasts until end of turn. {Vorel of the Hull Clade} doubles counters, not the end of turn effect granted by phytoburst.
Counters given to the creature due to say, {Archangel of Thune} or {Blessings of Nature} for example, can be doubled by vorel's ability.
Phyto doesn't give counters. The +5/+5 goes away at end of turn. So, you wouldn't be able to cast this on a creature, and then use Vorel's ability to double that.
Counters are things that stay as long as the permanent is in play.
