Title: Abilities w/fighting
Post by: Lilhek on July 29, 2013, 02:58:53 AM
If I have one of my creatures fight another creature, and my creature has an ability like first strike or deathtouch or lifelink, would those abilities work in fighting?

There was a similar question that came up a while ago. Here's my response from that question.

Can someone make an actual list of the ones that work so I can tell my friend who insists first strike among other things work

Things that work:

Deathtouch, Lifelink, Infect

Things that don't work:

First Strike, Double Strike, Trample

Thank you very much. This answers my question.

Yes but it can have a few different effects. It the target of the fight is or becomes pro the color of the fight (pro green against {prey upon}) then the fight does not happen. If the creature is pro the color of the fighter then the damage dealt to the protected creature will be prevented (if allowed since {skullcrack} and whatnot gets around this).
