Some how allowing you to search by evergreen mechanics?
Hmm?
I think he means adding a drop-down menu in the search filter perimeters (where you already have things like card type, set/expansion, power, toughness, etc) that would include the common keyword mechanics.
Not a bad idea, actually. Would be nice to filter by Deathtouch or lifelink for example, without having to type it in via filter by text (and would also keep the search text box free for further filtering). A small convenience, but would be convenient nonetheless.
Not a bad idea.
I'm just tried of typing a keyword in the search box and getting things that give creatures the keyword, rather than things with the keyword on them already
Ooooh. Yeah. Bird, Gorzo and Piotr, super keen idea.
Who's idea is this? Can I use it when developing iMtG? According to iMtG law, please?
I would say it was Bird's idea. I only articulated ;)
Can I be prevented from having the same idea when developing iMtG? According to iMtG law, please?
I would say no. People wouldn't post in a section called "Ideas and Feedback" if they didnt want their ideas implemented (doing to them what they wouldn't want done to them.)
What if they changed their mind?
They shouldn't have suggested it in the first place hahah. I really don't know in that case.
Assuming you were right in the first case, I would say that in second the 'agreements must be kept' applies. Posting here is with the assumption that your idea will become part of iMtG, by posting here you agreed to that. You offered your idea. True or false?
That would be true.
I run tribal decks a good 80% of the time. I realize it may be a niche idea but I would love a similar menu for card types (particularly for creatures in my case) but legendary, arcane, tribal, etc would be useful for me too. The current "types" button has kept me happy but an alphabetized check off menu would be one less thing for my lazy fingers to type. It would also be a fun way to look at what card types exist and perhaps gain inspiration for my next tribal deck.
I realize a types drop down menu would be ... extensive. Are there other drawbacks to such a function?
Sounds doable.
Mtgdeckbuilder.com allows you a lot of search parameters, might be a good model.
What about being able to put stuff in the search box or in the selections for types, expansions, and things like that, and have stuff that fills those criteria not show up?
I'd like to see something like this implemented
I realy don't care whether you use my idea or not. Though it would make things easier for searches

I don't believe that. Why else would you put your idea forward?
By the way, could you get rid of the type "Ongoing" in the type menu. Ongoing is a Planar card type and not a regular card type.

i posted the idea with the possibility that you might use it, yet accepting the fact that you might not. Also, you were making it sound like I would make a big deal if you used it, so I was letting you know I wouldn't.
Here is another suggestion. Sense the big scandel with my contest happened. I'd like to see mod only pulls for contest holders that want to use them

I'm not sure what do you mean by that?

a pull were only mods can vote. That way, people don't make a million accounts and vote for themselves a million times
Democracy is so stupidly useless when it comes to making decisions. Truth is true regardless of the number of people voting for or against it. Polls are fun way to get people's opinions, but never ever tie any meaningful decision to a popular vote. Use your brains instead.

I think I may have a better idea that won't cause a sense of obligation for the mods here. If youre bent on not using polls, instead you can take a list of people who would be willing to be a judge in any future contests. When it comes time for judges to be needed, assign those people a number and choose randomly. Sort of like a jury system. You can even keep the information private so people don't try to bribe judges.
To take care of people voting for themselves, either they can't be eligible to vote, or you make it a rule where they can't vote for themselves.

I like this idea, if it is implemented, I would go to this, so called, "jury duty"
