Title: Scavenging Jund Aggro
Post by: Arbitratur on July 18, 2013, 10:48:50 AM
Put this deck together, let me know what you guys think, any and all comments and recommendations are highly appreciated, I want it to be more aggro to be able to compete with the other fast decks, while at the same time maximizing all graveyards (varolz+vexing=soo good!) and sacing to the falkenrath, especially the humans!

Thanks in advance everyone!

^this! And perhaps {desecration demon} over the rampager? Could make for better scavenge as well as a nice beatstick, removal target. Also consider alpha authority SB to protect varolz further

Agreed.  {Desecration Demon} is a bigger threat than most people think. He can get really scary really quick. And if nothing else, +6/+6 for 4 seems good.

Hmmm, yeah I did originally think about  {Desecration Demon} when making the deck, but he got lost somehow, maybe because I put in the  {Ghor-Clan Rampager} for easy fast extra damage and trample, he is soooo good in my G/R Aggro deck. Plus now I can bloodrush then scavenge, but I think you may be right,  {Desecration Demon} will probably be better, and also the  {Doom Blade} will probably be better main deck and maybe side the  {Putrefy}, I was just thinking versatility with the enchantments.

Also what would be good sideboard cards vs like a bant aura deck? It's hard to answer those pesky hexproof guys...

{Olivia Voldaren} over  {Falkenrath Aristocrat} no humans to pump the aristocrat.

If i have no humans, what do you call  {Experiment One} and  {Burning-Tree Emissary} then! I do agree  {Olivia Voldaren} is an amazing card but not as fast as  {Falkenrath Aristocrat}. Plus  {Falkenrath Aristocrat} can readily protect itself and I can also make him bigger with varolz. I'm not sure  {Olivia Voldaren} would really fit here

Yeah the more I thought about it I had already agreed with you, I need Fast Aggro with trample, then scavenge it for the double use. And olivia is out of the question. No one has any real suggestions otherwise though huh?

One thing that really sticks out to me is your trying to run both  {Varolz, the Scar-Striped} and  {Scavenging Ooze}. Yes I understand with the ooze you can use your opponents grave, I get that, but your looking for speed mainly is what I'm getting from your posts. Varolz is good at what he does but seems slower in this deck then pumping up your ooze. I would say pick one or the other. This way you can get the most out of either one of them. Because if your playing against a controlish type of deck your going to be using your own creatures in your graveyard to pump up your ooze. That's just my thought though. I would pick one or the other to keep things flowing better for you.

The scavenging oozes seem a little less aggressive to me than flinthoof boar. Is there enough stuff hitting the graveyard?

Lotleth troll
Grave Crawler
Mulch
Grisly salvage
Rancor

Some of the cards mentioned above would move the deck to some sort of control. Lotleth would make a nice addition to your deck tho.
