Title: Viability of slivers in standard
Post by: Everforward on July 18, 2013, 09:22:35 AM
I'm wondering what your opinions are on the slivers? Do you think they will be a deck type or do you think that they have been so nerfed by the wizards that they will be very difficult to play?

I think that they might work as a base for another deck, use some the mana sliver and some others to ramp faster the. Everything else, some sort of midrange deck maybe or along with another deck type (bant slivers, junk slivers etc...)? But I have my doubts that they will be able to function on their own though, mostly because of supreme verdict and the lack of a indestructible sliver, maybe they could do agro but past that  I think it's chances are slim...

{Craterhoof Behemoth} and {Boros Charm} are the missing parts.

T1-Mountain,{Striking Sliver}
T2-Forest, {Manaweft Sliver}
T3-Plains, {Blur Sliver}. Tap all three, {Hive Stirrings}. Tap both {Predatory Sliver}
T4-Mountain, {Bonescythe Sliver}. Tap all 6 Slivers, {Megantic Sliver}
T5-It doesn't matter, swing out. (or play more slivers, then swing out)

Yes I realize this is ideal conditions but still.

Was gonna say something about summoning sickness, then I realized {Blur Sliver} is just awesome lol.

This IS the deck that I already built. Got this against my friend and now he won't let me use this deck with him any more.

With the mana dork and chromatic lanters how much land do you think? I was going 22.

Ill probably stick to a flat 20 in a 60 card deck. Dorks, and mana sliver. Shouldn't have problems getting what you need.
