Title: Steam summer sale
Post by: Langku on July 13, 2013, 09:25:16 AM
Steam summer sale is on right now. Anyone bag some great deals?  So far I picked up The Whispered World and Magica for a 8 bucks total.

Picked up Garry's Mod and Just Cause 2 for $5.50. Waiting for Fallout, hopefully Skyrim again.

My wallet is in pain. Picked up Borderlands 2 and all the DLC for $25 and also got both Fallout 3 and New Vegas with DLC for $10. Been a good sale so far, got most stuff that I wanted at a steep discount.

I'm watching age of empires 2. I know I'm being miserly but even at half off it seems steep for a game that's almost 15 years old...

I don't know.  I just know it is a game in the Steam cloud.  I personally just use Windows.

No, you need at least OSX Snow Leopard (10.6).

Every time I hear a steam sale, no matter where I am, my wallet just jumps out of my pants and is like "I'll meet you at home, I got you bro."

Well, I bought the Deus Ex collection, so  I guess I sort of made use of this sale.  I've been wanting to play that for a while.

Langku:  I've heard many times that I should get that, but I've never really thought about it. Is Terraria good?

Wally:  Bioshock Infinite is sooo good. That's easily one of my favorite games.

Silent, terraria's a love letter to 16 bit era fans. It came out a few moths prior to minecraft and has lots of similarities. You start out in a sidescrolling world with some tools and the options to treasure hunt, fight, tunnel, build, or invent with all the stuff you find. There's corrupted lands and jungles, floating islands, caverns full of treasure, a dungeon, bosses, alchemy, laser swords, shotguns, magic, light gardening, smithing, npcs. Dig low enough and you'll drop into the fiery underworld, build high enough and you'll find 0 gravity. And there's an update with quests and bucket loads of new content coming this summer. Best 2 or 3 bucks you'll ever spend. Whew. Can you tell I'm a fan?

Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition is $7.50 right now. If you're in to dungeon crawling or sword & sorcery type games check it out. It's designed to be really unforgiving though so be prepared to die. A lot. Once you get the hang of it it's tons of fun though.
(I recommend playing with a controller though since it was ported to pc from console, the keyboard+mouse controls are a little wonky)

We own Dark Souls, and Demon Souls for the PS3 so...  No need for that one.
