If a creature with trample was targeted with a spell/ability giving it trample (again), would that spell/ability resolve, or would it fizzle?
Specifically, is {Soulbright Flamekin} a self-contained infinite red mana source?
I've always been under the impression that giving a creature an ability it already had would resolve but have no effect.
Trample isn't stackable but you can use the spell on it and it will resolve.
For eg. I play 3 {Rancor} on {Arbor Elf}. He's a 7/1 with Trample.
Quote01/10/2007 You get the bonus only the third time the ability resolves. You won't get the bonus the fourth, fifth, sixth, or any subsequent times.
Rulings of this card are clear :P.
