Title: Is helvault good in my deck
Post by: Agrajagzz9 on July 11, 2013, 12:20:27 AM
Ok so I run a {captain sisay} legends edh deck. While it is already very well tuned and crafted to have tons of answers I notice during games that other creatures are something I have a tough time dealing with. Because of this creatures like {vorenclex, voice of hunger} and other praetors as well as many large and troublesome creatures are hard to deal with and cause a lot of problems.

I have 6-8 spot removal spells in the deck but I was trying to find a legendary answer tithe problem so it is only one sisay activation away. That's when I remembered {helvault}. It exiles guys and can be played while gaddock teeg is on the field and it solved most issues. Mana is no issue because I ramp pretty well ad almost never miss land drops so the fact that its a bit mana Intensive is not an issue. I also run cards like avacyn and {privileged position} to help protect it. Does this card seem worth it or is it just too fragile and is a wasted spot. I would be cutting {time of need} for it because that card doesn't ever do too much more than an extra sisay activation and its all based on luck to draw it.

Thanks in advance for you input :)

I'm thinking that if mana isn't the issue then run  {Karn Liberated} instead. Pay the mana once and exile it forever instead of when it leaves the battlefield like  {Helvault}.

I have thought about that but karn isn't a legend. The point is to have it be legendary so it can be tutored. I tutor and shuffle so often that I literally need to luck into karn to get him.

Thats why you play both {Karn} and {Helavault}

Karn is a card I can't really afford ATM I just want to know of helvault is good enough by itself based on what I have said. Also karn cannot be play while gaddock teeg is in play.

I like the helvault the way you'd use it

Oh i thought {Helavault} was 7 mana... It would be good it can used to save your creatures as well like you exile your creature and theres to make them not really want to blow up the {helavault}
