Do you have access to {thragtusk}?

I would take out the {simic charm} and add another {azorius charm}. The bouncing to library ability along with the cycling of the azorius is probably better than the simic, especially considering youre running 4x {cyclonic rift}. I would also change the {jace, memory adept} for {jace, architect of thought}. In any control deck you want as much draw power as possible. The more cards in your hand. The better.

I agree with you that draw power is essential in Control decks. However, Memory Adept comes with a secondary win-con: mill 10 for the cost of nothing. If you're good on the draws ({Think Twice}, {Azorius Charm}), you can easily mill out 20-30 cards from your opponent before they do anything about it.

Thats what I was thinking when I put memory adept in the deck but ill try it with the architect when I go to draft tonight

I think thragtusk is a must in any bant control deck. The access to two creatures and five life. Especially with the {alchemists refuge}.

About the Jace vs Jace debate. I definitely see the positives to the Memory Adept, maybe try and AoT in there.

Let me know how the {cyclonic rift}'s work out too. They may be where you can make some room for baby Jace.

I think the syncopates are more useful as sideboard cards because of the exile effect, unless the card you are countering has flashback, the cost of syncopate might not be worth it. Try using essence scatter and/or negate? I also agree about using the azorius charm over the simic because of its bounce. I play blue almost exclusively and have had plenty of experience with control decks. Depending on if you are playing against an aggro or control deck should dictate whether you should use negate or essence scatter. Other than that, it seems like a pretty solid deck.

Both dissipate and cancel are both decent counter cards which you might be able to afford to put like 2 into it and as for the thragtusk, could you take out a farseek? You already have 25 lands in your deck which is a pretty good amount so you have good chances to draw the lands you need.

So replace 2 farseeks for thragtusk
