Title: Foils
Post by: Rass on March 04, 2012, 11:57:00 PM
Is there any rule of thumb for pricing out foils? Hope this is the right place to post this because I am thinking of putting up some trades

It varies a lot.  My suggestion is to look it up directly on something like TCGplayer.com.

I know my local card shops add .50 for common or low value foils. More expensive cards could increase by $10 or more.

My favorite example is here:

{Goblin Matron} 7th Ed.
Regular: ~$0.75
Foil: $90
No, that's not a mistake.  It's worth more than a foil {Sorin, Lord of Innistrad}   :o XD

Core sets at the time were under purchased, but the card is very popular amount Legacy players and it was the first time was printed in foil. This makes it very hard to find.
