Ok, I have out two {Predatory Sliver}s, so they are both 3/3. I attack with both, the computer defends with a 2/2 {Bloodhunter Bat}, and a 1/3 {Giant Scorpion} with deathtouch. In combat resolution, all 4 creatures are sent to the graveyard. ???
I thought all combat resolved concurrently, so the deathtouch to one sliver happens at the same time as the bat's 2 dmg to the other - the only thing I can think of is that they are saying deathtouch happens first, killing one, thus making the other one a 2/2 so it dies to the bat... Didn't think that was how deathtouch worked though?
The second sliver will die, but not exactly in this way. All damage is done simultaneously, so your slivers are both 3/3 when they take damage. However, damage does not wear off until the end of the turn, so after combat (when your sliver becomes a 2/2 because of the other dying), your sliver will die.
And here's your ruling:
119.6. (http://imtgapp.com/forum/index.php?action=imtg;area=rule;number=119.6.): Damage marked on a creature remains until the cleanup step, even if that permanent stops being a creature. If the total damage marked on a creature is greater than or equal to its toughness, that creature has been dealt lethal damage and is destroyed as a state-based action (see rule 704). All damage marked on a permanent is removed when it regenerates (see rule 701.12, "Regenerate") and during the cleanup step (see rule 514.2).
Of course... Doh. Thank you sir.
