Title: Mono Green Commander

If I have a monogreen colored commander can I play a card like  {Kitchen Finks}?

No, dual symbols have the color identity of both colors, in this case {G} and {W}. The {W} is outside your commanders color identity.

So I can't? That's dumb I wanted to play  {Kitchen Finks} and  {Melira, Sylvok Outcast} and a sac spell :( oh well back to the drawing board

The colour identity is easily determined by a few things.

Post inistrad you will see a little colour identifier circle (it's also featured on the pacts from modern masters)

The thin border surrounding the card. Not the black one, but rather the thin one between the background and the card information.
This is notably the easiest way to tell if unsure.

The last (and most predominant) is where the card gets all it's information from. The mana symbols to cast the spell, the text box below, not including the explanation text.

Commander is a casual format anyways. Just ask your play group and if they say yes go for it
