Imagine that WoTC released a block where the Eldrazi shifted into the Mirrodin plane where the Phyrexians have taken over, and an epic battle ensues. Karn, being at the helm, would have to create some crazy machinations to battle the god-like Eldrazi. But even beyond that, imagine if the Phyrexians got their claws on a fallen Eldrazi and started manufacturing giant Eldrazi zombies or a creature/artifact mix. The storyline and the cards that would come from this clash could be very epic in my opinion, and could still leave an open ending for future expansions. What if the Phyrexians win? They start to assimilate the dead Eldrazi and shift planes to wreak havoc on other people. What if the Eldrazi win? So many possibilities. Let me know what you guys think, I would personally love to see this block come to life
Yeah I would like it if then the phyrexian people attacked innistrad and Avacyn had to save their sorry asses
For sure, with how powerful Karn is now, the sky is the limit really. A phyrexian invasion in any plane is going to be devastating.
OMG and then someone can go save kamigawa from being AWFUL!
Lol nah, no one would voluntarily shift there, even if it was just to destroy the place
It would be interesting if the phryxans invaded ravnica and infected the simic
Those who battle with those of the beat of glistening oil in thier hearts never last. Urza spent his entire history of existence fighting them. His and the lives of many on dominaria and tolaria. And all he accomplished was becoming infatuated by them. But fighting them he saw what true perfections of artifice they are. And if they find a more formidable foe? Well if you can't beat them, join thier ranks, manipulate themselves against one another, then change thier design on a genetic level and make them your own.
Karn left mirrodin for good. He would have nothing to do with the phyrexians except to kill them.
But if it was to fight one of the strongest races in the multiverse, how could he not use the best tool at his disposal, the phyrexians. The lesser of two evils. If anything, he could send the phyrexians to their deaths in an initial attack. Then form an alliance elsewhere to build a proper army to fight them. Possibly Sorin for all his connections. Or why not an alliance of planeswalkers to fight them, casting their petty differences aside to deal with a much larger problem before it gets out of control.
Could you imagine the phryxans infecting the eldrazi? The only thing that would make that scarier is if the infected eldrazi had somehow become a planeswalker before being infected. The only thing scarier than that? Is if it was emraku, or whatever his name was.....
Lol emrakul as a planeswalker, yea that'd be insanity. +2: put 2 eldrazi spawn tokens into play under your control, they are 0/1 and you may sacrifice them for 1 colorless. -7: put a 5/5 eldrazi spawn token into play with trample and annihilate 1. -20: you get an emblem where all eldrazi creatures you control gain an extra annihilate 5. Starting loyalty counters = 8. Cmc = 10? All i play is edh anymore so that seems like a reasonable casting cost.
I designed the eldrazi gods as walkers years ago. They turned out ok. I still have the file somewhere but I remember the template i used for all of them.
Cmc=same as the original printings
Loyalty roughly half the cmc
Plus: something related to their namesake servants like {emrakul's hatcher}
Minus is their casting trigger (extra turn, draw cards, destroy perminent)
0: they become creatures similar to their original printing.

But was it worse than Homelands? Or the masks one, whatever?
