So question even though its probably obvious it's just not in the rulings: does omnibians ability cause the affected creature to lose its abolities?

Curly brackets!

The creature will keep its abilities. If it is to lose them, the ability will specify, like {Turn to Frog} does.

Yup this card only specifies two changes: the creature type and the base P/T. It will not end pumps, change colors, or remove abilities.

I think it would keep its abilities, unless they're power and toughness abilities({Primodial hydra}, for example).
