Hey guys I'm new to magic and I'm currently building my first deck.Its an artifact consisting of the Myr creatures and spells as well as two Golems Hearts and two Golden urns. What I'm asking is if you guys could give a noob some pointers on equipment, enchants, and instants I should have. I would prefer low mana cost too although I do have a great mana curve to go off of.
Note: This deck is built around lots of tokens and the Myr Battlesphere doing lots of direct damage.
{Steel Overseer}
{Tempered Steel}
{Parallel Lives}
{Etherium Sculptor}

A fun artifact combo is {thropter assembly} and {time sieve}. {myr retriever} is really good. I would throw in all of the myrs that give you mana like {copper myr} and {platinum myr}
As far as equipment goes, {sword of body and mind} {sword of fire and ice} {sword of life and death} etc are all really good. If you run a lot of equipments, {pure steel paladin} is amazing.
{ornithopter} is a fun little guy. {Memnite} {shieldsphere} {phyrexian walker} {accorders shield} {bone saw} {mana crypt} {mishra's bauble} {mox diamond} and {mox opal} are also good
If you are ok with it not being modern legal, play with the artifact lands. They are the same as a basic land, but they are artifacts too.
Is 0 low enough mana for you?
Hey thanks man and I already have the Myr Retriever set up in there along with 3 Gold Myr to take care of the creature mana but what do you mean by modern legal? Like I wouldn't be able to use them in local tourneys?
"Modern" is just the term used for the format of decks that use cards from 8th edition to current. Cards older than 8th edition aren't allowed in the format.
A quick breakdown of format names for ya:
Legacy = Every card ever printed is legal, minus a small banned list. A very expensive and eternal format.
Vintage = Same as Legacy, but no ban list. A few cards are "restricted," meaning only 1 copy per deck, but no card is banned.
Modern = 8th Edition / Kamigawa to current allowed. Banned card list, too.
Standard = The most popular format. Only the most 2 recent blocks (and the most recent core set) are legal. No banned list.
Commander / EDH = a multiplayer format with 100 card decks where you may only have 1 copy of each card (except basic lands). A very casual, fun-lovers format full of silly things and good times
Limited = where players open unopened booster packs and make decks with them on the spot. This could be...
Sealed = players open 6 boosters and build a deck on the spot
Or
Draft = players get 3 packs, open one at a time, pick one card from that pack, and pass the read to the person next to them. The pack is passed in a circle until all cards are picked, then the next pack is opened and the process repeats in the opposite direction.
Be sure to check out the new user part of the forum and the various FAQ's and stuff we have around, they should be really helpful for you! And some pretty clever folk put some solid effort into writing them up with lots of detail.
Draft seems like the most interesting and exciting play style :o
At first I hates the idea of draft. I thought why would I play if I already had cards and decks? But then one FNM I thought was standard ended up being draft. I was already there, so might as well. Intended up being a lot more strategic and interactions were totally different than what I expected. It was a good surprise. Ian not go out of my way to draft now, but I would certainly play it when it is available.
