Title: Best Block
Post by: Jlamb5 on June 20, 2013, 02:46:11 AM
I'm trying to get into sealed/draft with older blocks. Im a standard player but have recently taken to older sets. What are some of the better sets, money isn't really an issue (aside from pre-fallen empires)

I'm a sucker for Alara block, but it's not necessarily easy to draft (based around 3-color decks, 3rd set has 0 mono color cards). However, even if its not easy, it's a lot of fun and the cards are some of my favorite.

Zendikar is fun to draft, too, and if you're lucky you can get fetch lands.

Modern masters was made for drafting, if money isn't an issue, start there while they are still available. Outside that, I really liked the zendikar block, and I've noticed plenty of the original and returned mirridon blocks cards see play in modern, so they might be worth looking at too...

👆 Lorwyn is dang expensive for a reason. It's loaded with great cards and unique flavor. If you like tribes this one can be a blast!

This.

Modern masters was some of the funniest drafting I've done before

Buy a case and draft packs - don't open them up, resell a box or two to make some return

I have two of the three fat packs of this block. I love this block! I also want to get into Return to Ravnica but I don't have the money.
