Title: Dark Lily and Trait Doctoring
Post by: CbStrad on June 13, 2013, 07:17:49 PM
So, say I were to hit {Liliana of the Dark Realms} with a {Trait Doctoring} and use her ultimate ability. Would the emblem still apply only to Swamps or would it apply to whatever land type you named for Doctoring?

It would be whatever you declared for the Doctoring. The ability that creates the emblem defines its characteristics, which will be changed by the Doctoring. Pretty cool find!

Lets say you change swamps to island, the emblem would read islands you control have tap add {B}{B}{B}{B} to your mana pool.

Or

Lets say you change black to blue, the emblem would read swamps you control have tap add {U}{U}{U}{U} to your mana pool.

Edited- statement is false

It does, but  {Trait Doctoring} can also change one basic land type to another ie swamp to island

I believe that would mean. You could change black or swamp to blue or island. It doesn't mention mana symbols tho.

So my understanding is that the first part of what rasser said is correct but you are unable to do the second half (tap swamps for 4 blue mana)
