Title: Isochron question
Post by: Leevai420 on June 12, 2013, 03:43:25 PM
Is {angelic grace} imprinted on {isochron scepter} a broken as I think it is??
And can this save you from losing the game with say {pact of negation}?

The Grace combo is stupid in the best way. Pact would still kill you if you don't pay the mana cost, since it's part of the spell's ability. You're better off throwing {Counterspell} or {Remand} out of the stick
Just talked to my friend who is a judge and he says the pact would not lose me the game if I cast angels grace during my upkeep.

Only weakness is {angels grace} says damage, it won't save you from life loss.

That's not the issue. It keeps him from losing thanks to the Pact's mana cost. What it means is, he can drop a no-cost counter and still save himself

True but what the first post is trying to say, ifs here is an effect from life loss it would put you t 0. You could live for the rest of that turn, but if you are still at 0 when the effect wears off there isn't any effect fast enough to save you drone the state check that you are at 0 since state doesn't use the stack and does what it wants

I don't see what you mean.  Pact says you lose the game.  It doesn't say your life becomes zero.  So Angel's Grace can save you due to the fact it says, you can't lose the game.  Because it doesn't say how you die.

Until end of turn. You die on the cleanup step as a result of having 0 life. Good combo. Really annoying. But like all combos, there is a way around it. Just be warned, life loss can still effect you even if you e been graced by angels.

Well if you want lifegain, look at that white card in m14 that taps, and gives you one life.

The epitome of white control.

{orim's chant}
{silence}
{angel's grace}
{grand abolisher}

What player life Loss spells do people play in legacy??

Btw this combo was just an idea I had to help stall the game long enough until you can get a proper lock with isochron and orim's chant.
