When paying mana for {Bonfire of the Damned} do both x values have to be even or can you pay into one more than the other?

Both have to be even because they are both x. X= x so they have to be the same. If it was X and Y they could be different

Why wouldnt you make them the same? To deal 1 damage for example, x=1. For x  to equal 1, both values must equal 1. It would be illogical to pay different amounts

I didn't know if one was for the player burn and one for creatures. I apologize for being illogical.

Yea I run that in my standard deck but sadly one have 1 so the miracle is rare or I draw on turn 2-3 which is not as effective as 5.
