Pulled out {ral zarek} t4 in an edh game today, then dropped {grimgrin, Corpse-Born} t5, didn't even notice the synergy between these two before! Good times, for me at least lol
You would not be able to put the counter on him though. Just untap him
I know, still beautiful though, destruction and a +1/+1 counter works for me
