Can't seem to find this in the rules?
I did a quick gatherer search and no walls don't have defender. I don't think there are any rules to a wall besides it being another tribe.
When walls were created, they had implicit rules saying they couldn't attack. Some cards can make a wall lose defender though
ie. {animate wall}
Great {doran the siege tower} card.
So {Axebane Guardian} would gain no mana from {Cinder Wall} or any other older wall befor defender was added to the game? And thanks for your help
The reason I keep persisting with this is if you use the filter in this data base punch in defender select text then press done {Cinder Wall} and all the other old walls come up.
Yes, they've been updated via Oracle. What you're seeing in Gatherer/the card database is their "true" rules text. So Axebane Guardian works with them.
Awesome thank you! Time to bring out some five color wall decks with a {Door to Nothingness} for kicks
Wall is original defender
Sorry to keep kicking a dead horse here. I believe we have established all walls have Defender but are all defenders walls? {Rolling Stones} {Animate Wall} will they work on {Blistering Barrier}

Sure they will, {Blistering Barrier} is a Wall. Wall is a creature type, so not all creatures with Defender are Walls. {Gatecreeper Vine} comes to mind, as a Defender that isn't a Wall.
Sorry I put the wrong card in there I ment {Rage Nimbus}
But I understand now. All walls have defender but not all defenders are walls. Thank you
