509.2a this is the rule I think applies.
My declare attack phase: swing with vexing devil.
His declare block phase: he blocks with bronze beak moa.
In response I play {Gruul Charm} creatures without flying can't block. Allowing my devil to go thru.
The judge sided with me saying that the block is no longer legal. Do you all agree?
Once the block is made it's set, just like if you killed the blocker it's still blocked.
Edit: also {Bronzebeak Moa} doesn't have flying anyway.. Your judge should have caught this haha

This. Bad call on the judge's part. I refer you to this ruling:
506.4a (http://imtgapp.com/forum/index.php?action=imtg;area=rule;number=506.4a): Once a creature has been declared as an attacking or blocking creature, spells or abilities that would have kept that creature from attacking or blocking don't remove the creature from combat.
Rule 509.2a only applies to damage assignment. If a blocking creature is removed from the battlefield, it will not deal damage to the creature it has blocked. However, once a creature is blocked, its a done deal and the damage will not go through (excluding Trample).
Thanks keyoto, I honesty had no idea and since it was in my favor I didn't want to argue him.
I just know to play it before now
Just wondering why he let the Vexing Devil hit the field?
Cos he has less than 4 life but creatures in battlefield to block the devil?

Yeah he was at 4 life and the swing with the devil that went thru ended the game

I've let {vexing devil} hit the field while I was at 17 life once. I had a plan though, and it turned out to be worth it
Yup whenever you play agro vs control you have to be very careful when to play your vexing devils. Turn 1 is best and turn 2 is ok also if they have no mana open. But turn 3 they never pay it if they have a {supreme verdict} in hand

i wasn't playing {W}{U}. I was playing {U}{R} spell spam/leyline lightning. Basically, I spam small instant's and sorceries. Have lots of things that trigger when you play spells, and turn 6-9 you've flipped the game into your favor. Spells like {index} and {peer through the depths} make the deck work, and are the core of the deck
It is a control deck though
Is it posted on here? Seems fun
