Title: Untrustworthy Traders
Post by: Silent1236 on May 30, 2013, 05:15:12 PM
Ok, I'm going to go through and rebuild this list for ease of access.  If you have someone to report, either PM me or post here and describe your reasoning for the accusation.  While "He jacked my {Black Lotus}" is a viable reason, "I have been waiting 2 weeks" is not really a viable reason.  Sometimes mail can be slow, sometimes something happens and they can't send right away, and sometimes, people are just flat-out lazy or forgetful.  Anyway, these are the users that have been deemed "Untrustworthy" by the community:

Untrustworthy:

Might get me a few downvotes but it needs to be said.
I'm adding All mana mania pending moderator decision of innocence or guilt.

The fact that he absolutely refused to use a middleman and told me that I had to send first no exceptions is why i'm posting this.

Super sketchy, just want a review from the mods before someone has the possibility of being scammed.

If he has been cleared one of you mods shoot me a pm and i'll change this to something about kittens :-P

Frankly, All-mana did nothing untrustworthy. He is on the trusted traders thread various times and is an active member of the community. Besides, given the fact that you aren't exactly trusted and have lied to the community as a whole, his actions are completely validated.
Title: Re: Untrustworthy Traders
Post by: Vampyvyrus on June 04, 2013, 01:16:36 AM
See I'd prefer not to use a middle man...seems like it'd take twice as long to get cards. Plus I'm stickin to trusted traders only. Ill be on the list soon I'm sure and I don't mind sending first to trusted members. I've only been involved in 5 trades and I've sent first in all of them. I look at it this way slender, if the person is an active member in the community and has been involved in numerous trades they won't scam you because doing so will tarnish their name and make trades for them more difficult.
Title: Re: Untrustworthy Traders
Post by: Moneekahh on June 04, 2013, 01:23:01 AM
To be fair, I was once scammed by an active member of the community who was on the trusted list... I would advise all traders to proceed with caution in all dealings, and if something rubs you the wrong way, don't trade with that person. It's a very simple concept. No need to put someone (especially a trusted trader) on untrustworthy because they didn't want to use a middleman, that's just silly.

I'm adding MissingKirby (cat on toast in space avatar)
Reason
Scheduled trade Apr 25
He has supposedly sent his package twice, returned both times, one for a bad zipcode. I've used the same address many times with other users so I know there are no issues on my end.

He apologized and offered to send again and throw in extras, it's already mid June and I called it a day on my trade with him.

He was trading for my out of print invasion decks. He offered to send first, so I never lost my items, but they've been in escrow for over a month, I've gotten economy shipping faster from China.

Whether it be it really got lost in the mail for a 3rd time or he just didn't want to trade and didn't feel like admitting it, I need to put it up here. It was a waste of my time and I feel others shouldn't have theirs potentially wasted also.

It was a $25+ trade and he opted to not want to use a middle man.

He said no middleman because you should only use them for 30$+ trades.

This post is irrelevant, none of the above information makes him untrustworthy. If it got returned to sender, who cares? You shouldn't have posted this with no factual backing.

Middle man trades are $25+

Hes been stating he's sent an item, it keeps getting returned and after the third time he's sent it, it's still not here when sent over a week ago.

I haven't been scammed for items but my time has been wasted. Had it been the random irony of the postal service failing 3 times or him being lazy, it's still irritating to wait for a package for several weeks for it to never show up.

There was a big deal about someone deciding against the trade after the value of their card jumped in price. So be careful about saying canceling the trade at the last second is ok.

Even so, it is ok to keep what is yours. Just because you agree to trade unless you end up with your end and theirs there shouldnt be a problem.

That's actually not what happened. He had sent his end, I was waiting on it, and I had yet to send anything. At this point is when I pulled the plug and said I would send his cards back to him once they arrived. Also, I never received any cards, therefore none had to be set back. This has been dealt with.

Mikefromp, that deal WAS ages ago and ty for reminding me. There's a dozen users who have received $20-$50 worth of cards from me. Just like everyone else, my cards achieved destination. I figure one of two things..... You are buddy-buddy with another user who ripped me off pretty bad and got caught and punished or the mail monster ate it. Either way, not my problem kid. Out of my hands once it hits post. AND I'm still having successful trades up to today. -karma means nothing when people are loyal and know the real story.

It doesn't matter that some people have gotten their trades from you (myself included,) he hasn't gotten his cards from you.  Even if the "mail monster ate it," he still was ripped off.  He lost cards and got nothing in return.
