My cousin decided he wants to start playing again, and I told him we were going to build him a Modern deck. We started with a simple Simic shell, it was pretty good, and yesterday we went all out and picked up {Mystic Snake}s and {Jhessian Infiltrator}s and a 4th for some cards and wow. This deck is pretty vicious now. It revolves mostly around {Shorcrasher Mimic}, the Simic Mimic 😁. That guy is a beating and a half, holy cow! We've talked about taking it Bant and running {Rafiq of the Many}, I think he'd just be really good in here with the mimic. The mana is so easy in Modern too. Any ideas? Comments?

I think it'd be cool to eventually run more swords in here, like 2 Fire and Ice and a War and Peace, and swords would just fill out the 3 drops. For now though I only had the extra War and Peace. Also we still need the {Flooded Grove}s, only part of the deck we don't technically have. The Biomancers and dual lands are mine, but I said he could just borrow 'em when we go play. I really like this deck though.

{Coiling Oracle} is a must for this deck

He is just a better {Lorescale Coatl} as far as this deck is concerned, very good idea! We'll test it. Above all this is his deck though, I gotta run it by him first.

Pretty much. It went from Midrange to Aggro to this. I like this build though. The dream build seems pretty sweet, how did I forget {Voidslime}?!?

I love it! {Voidslime} makes it really awesome. I'll test it out on Cockatrice.

Ever considered {Shardless Agent}? I have a deck similar to this one that I play occasionally. It also has some {Nulltread Gargantuan}s.

Yeah, {Shardless Agent} would be a tad bit ridiculous in this deck.

He takes away from {Shorecrasher Mimic} though. That guy is such a beat stick it's ridiculous.

I play a deck quite similar to this on occasion, but I run {Coiling Oracle} and {Nulltread Gargantuan}.

{Coiling Oracle} is in the Master build. I hadn't thought about it before, which is weird because I play it in Pauper. The Master List is a little bit below the deck.

So I see. The reason {Nulltread Gargantuan} is so nice in decks like these is that not only is he a 5/6 for {3}, but he gives you extra value from mystic snake and coiling oracle.
