Title: Wayfaring Temple
Post by: Frothandslosh on May 26, 2013, 07:29:50 PM
If I have {Wayfarig Temple} on the field as a 2/2 and my opponent blocks it with {Skylasher}, can I respond by playing {Advent of the Wurm} and make {Wayfaring Temple} a 3/3?

If so, does my {Wayfaring Temple} survive and his {Skylasher} die?

Yes this is possible you do it as soon as they block before damage. So when damage happens its a 3/3 against a 2/2 nice plus you get another token

He does get bigger because you added another creature to the battlefield. He would not populate...unless he does damage to opponent, but sky lasher would die.

Here you go:

405.6b (http://imtgapp.com/forum/index.php?action=imtg;area=rule;number=405.6b): Static abilities continuously generate effects and don't go on the stack. (See rule 604, "Handling Static Abilities.") This includes characteristic-defining abilities such as "[This object] is red" (see rule 604.3).

It's power and toughness are determined by a static ability that has a characteristic defining effect on the card. It is checked at all times without using the stack.
