Title: New Legend Rule
Post by: The1337Magician on May 26, 2013, 09:48:36 AM
{Hazezon Tamar} + {Progenitor Mimic} +  {Blood Artist}
Now how does that work out with the new M14 rule?
You alredy have Blood Artist. Hazezon enters and you get X warriors the next turn. That turn, you play Progenitor Mimic. Original Hazezon dies, Blood Artist activates. Sand Warriors enter next turn. Copy of Hazezon dies and all Sand Warriors die and Blood Artist activates.
That good or is there something better?

When Hazezon dies, the Sand Warriors exile, they don't die.

Well acually, the legend enters the battlefield.  Then the other legend enters, after it enters that legend is technically on the battlefield.  Then the other legend leaves.  In retrospect, if one leaves should the other be on the battlefield, so the sand warriors stay.

Or does that not work.

Unfortunately it works even worse.

Legend enters. You get sand warriors.

2nd legend enters. You get more sand warriors.

Game state is checked, sees two legends, and one is moved to the graveyard.

The "leaves the battlefield" effect triggers, exiling ALL sand warriors. You are left with a lousy legend and no warriors.

Edit: just noticed that his ETB is a delayed trigger, so actually this could potentially work if you play both copies before any sand warriors enter the battlefield.

Edit2: "this could work" meaning abusing his ETB to get more sand warriors or ETB effect triggers, not "dies" triggers like {blood artist}, which don't work because the warriors are exiled and don't die, as Inf.Div. pointed out.
