I absolutely fail with boosters. I buy pretty much a whole box, and pull nothing worth anything. It happens over and over and over. Then I owe my friend some money, so he tells me to just get the new simic pre made deck. It just happens to have 2 boosters in it. AND HE PULLS A FRICKIN VOICE OF FREAKING RESURGENCE!!! FROM A PACK I BOUGHT BUT IT WASN'T MINE!!! He never buys boosters. All through ravnica, I was trying to get trostani, selesnya's voice. Couldn't find them anywhere. Not even for trade. It took me the whole block to get 2. Then in the dgm prerelease, he did selesnya, and in his 1 rtr pack, he pulls a trostani.
I hate life.
This sounds like my fiancé. She will buy one pack and pull a shock or liliana (usually) while I open bulk or a 2$ rare.
Taysby, I suggest that if you are looking for specific cards, just buy singles. Statistically speaking, your chances of making value off of a booster is very low. It's better to use your hard-earned dough and just buy the singles you need! I know for me, the only packs I open are the prize packs at FNM. Sorry to hear about your bad luck!
I kill my pack fix for sets by buying a box :)
Then maybe do a sealed or two :)

:-\ sigh wish I had luck like that with rtr...
bought two RtR packs today, pulled a {Rogue's Passage}, and a bunch of bulk
this is why i only buy singles and intro packs, (and the occasional limited tournament packs, but that's an exception)
you always know what your getting, and you pay less money in the long run
