Say my opponent controls an {Empyrial Archangel}, and I attack him with an {Ambush Viper}. Does the damage kill the angel?
Thank you for any responses.
I'm pretty sure, yes it would kill him because it's the same damage from the viper and the viper has dt. Jester will be here in a few to correct me of I'm wrong :P
Yes? Since it says any amount of damage destroys creature and ur angel just redirects it to itself. Not quite sure on that
Have more self-confidence you two. You're both right. The source of the damage is the Viper, and the redirection doesn't change the source. One dead angel. X-P
Thank you everyone :)
I don't think so. The archangel says that any damage that would be dealt to you is dealt to the angel instead. But, it does not state that the creature would deal damage to the angel. So, I do not think that the angel would die.
Ruling states that it redirects thw damage
I don't feel like opening a new topic, but does lifelink stack?
You mean if you had a lifelink creature? and then attached {Lifelink} to creature with lifelink?
If so then no
I am pretty sure it does. U will have 2 seperate triggered abilities if u added lifelink to a creature with lifelink so it will stack.
Sorry i am wrong i just read lifelink is no longer a triggered ability it is now considered a static ability and it does not stack.
I saw it on the starter set for shards I think it was and it said something about exalted lifelink with {Rhox War Monk} so it piqued my interest.
Now if you attached {Lifelink} to a {Sunhome Enforcer} then its basically double lifelink since the Enforcer is a triggered ability
Lifelink Doesn't stack. It doesn't use the stack either. It's a static effect.
Stacking in the sense of a 1/1 having lifelink and then lifelink again with say, {Baskalisk Collar} , you wouldn't gain 2 in any circumstance?

"Equipped creature has lifelink and deathtouch." the creature would give you life not the collar. But since it already has lifelink it basically only gets the deatgtouch from said collar.

Multiple instances of lifelink are redundant, like having flying twice or trample twice. But Older cards kept a different wording that does stack.
like if a card says it gives a creature +1/+1 it is different than a +1/+1 counter. Sort of the same thing with lifelink it's all in the wording!!!!?!!?!!!?????!!,!?!?!?!?!?!??'nv c !!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!!??!!?!?!!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!??!!??!!?!!?!?!?!!??!!??!!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!??!!??!!?!!?!?!?!!??!!??!!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!??!!??!!?!!?!?!?!!??!!??!!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!??!!??!!?!!?!?!?!!??!!??!!?!?!!!?!??!!??!?!!?!??!$?$?$?!?!(!(!(!($(!($(($$?!?!?!?!?!!?!! :)
We've come a LONG way from Deathtouch. If you are ever unsure, check out the Oracle text. If it says "lifelink", then it'll happen only once at the exact same time as damage happens.
If the card kept its trigger, like on the original {Spiritlink} it happens as a trigger after damage. There are some differences between the two.
Lifelink ALWAYS gives life to the creature's controller, but you could enchant your enemy's creature with {Spirit link} and YOU'D gain the life instead.
If the bad guys are attacking for lethal damage, if you block with a lifelinker, you'll gain life at the same time damage is deal and live. SL will only trigger AFTER damage, you will die.
Multiple SLs will each trigger separately because they are triggers. Lifelink is a static replacement effect that replaces damage with damage+life.
