Title: Trading
Post by: Rhazor on May 19, 2013, 05:12:04 PM
Hi everyone!

I was doing some tradings these days and I was wondering if there would be the possibility of adding the option of saving the current Trading so we could recover it in the future.

This is... I have added some cards that I would trade with someone, added some from their trade binder, and then I would save it for future reference (for example with the name "Possible trade with Rhazor" or something similar).

I think this could help us simulate tradings better (sometimes we might not want to end up sending the trade offer).

I hope I explained myself here. If not, do not hesitate in asking and I'll try to make it clearer.

Best regards and thanks,

Rhazor

I would enjoy it more if people actually used their trade binders

Constantly I find even trades and never get responses or people say "I don't use that binder for trades"

WTF do you have a binder labeled trade for then???

It's a very useful tool but I find rarely does anyone use it properly, give or take 10 regulars

An adding to the trading feature:

If we had saved the trading we could even add the cards we're surfing through to the desired trading (more or less like adding it to binders or to decks). We should be able to select if we want to add it as give or take.

This way, if I'm checking the Trading forum and a user asks for some cards and offers some others, I can simulate a trading easily even if the cards aren't on our TB's.

Also, I think it'd be interesting to "mail" our trading offers to any certain user. Now, if I'm not wrong, the only thing I can do is send a trading offer to the other user if I click on "potential trades". But if I do this, I cannot find cards that aren't in our TB's and that makes it more complicated. A lot of times I end up typing the trade offer, but then the other party cannot see it in Trading. That's not very convenient.

Am I talking nonsense or do you guys find this could be useful?

Thanks,

Rhazor

That would certainly make things easier. Anyway, I've contacted with quite a few users that are not using the app and are only using the Forums, so they cannot "update the binders" (is not the case of everyone, of course, but of some).

I understand that inputing the cards in the binders is a lot of work and keeping them updated too (you tell me, I've got a binder with over 15k cards, two TB's that add about 400 cards and one "My Precious" that has all my cards in my decks—2400 so far— so I know).

Anyway, it's a tough work that is very worth, at least for me. I've been able to do more than 14 tradings so far (and I live overseas). Without this app, the binders and the community this would have been impossible...

;o)

Yeah, similarly I wish there was a way to indicate priority or a higher preference for the cards in a needed binder. It would be useful to know what people really need and might trade more for/more likely to complete a trade/etc

it is very unlikely that people will use this well. Much harder to make a needed list ranked than non-ranked, it would be unpractical

You could simply implement your own system by hand. You can type up an entire personal trade binder if it suits you, it's what I do. Your Needed could also be separate, or have tags, asterisks, whatever.

Just remember that adding, removing or updating cards by hand does not add, remove nor update them in Potential Trades system.

I know, I only use that for my Needs.

Needs is part of the Potential Trades system.

Reordering your Private Page manually while keeping the counts intact is ok.
