The vampire sorin lord of innistrad feared that she and griselbrand would use an artifact called the veil to destroy the very humans that the vampires fed on. In the fear that their dinner would soon become lingering souls and voiceless spirits he created Avacyn, angel of hope and she made mikaeus her second in command. She was told to trap all demons in a shard of the silver moon called the helvault, not to murder them because they would regenerate. Avacyn met griselbrand and locked him in the helvault, but he grabbed her and pulled her in with him. Liliana of the veil had cursed Garruk relentless on her way to meet griselbrand, she soon discovered that griselbrand was inside the helvault so she destroyed it allowing griselbrand and Avacyn to be free. Sorin heard the helvault open from inside the vault of the archangel and was terrified that all of the demons would escape. He ran and soon found all of the demons in the helvault and liliana on the run. Avacyn still protects innistrad from the unholy demons that lurk in the shimmering grottos. |
